Draft — under legal review. Last updated 31 October 2026.

Terms of use

These terms cover your use of openbarista.io, the OpenBarista website, run by Tim O’Brien in Tampa Bay, Florida, USA (“we”, “us”). The OpenBarista app and services for roasters will have their own terms, which you’ll see before you use them.

Using the site

You may use the site to learn about OpenBarista, join the waitlist and apply to be a Founding Roaster. Please don’t:

  • submit someone else’s details, or false information;
  • try to break, overload or get around the site’s security, including its spam protection;
  • copy the site’s content or design for commercial use without asking us.

Waitlist and Founding Roaster applications

Joining the waitlist or applying doesn’t create a contract or guarantee a place. We read every application; the Founding Roaster programme is limited to the first fifty roasteries we accept. Any agreement for paid services will be made separately and in writing.

Our content

The text, images, design and code of the site belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. Coffee business names and logos belong to their owners.

No guarantees

We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but it’s provided “as is”. Information about features and plans describes what we’re building and may change before launch. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the site.

Links

The site may link to other websites. We aren’t responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions: info@openbarista.io.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, except where the law of your country gives you rights that can’t be waived.
